Description
This distinctive 10.5 km circular route winds through meadows, forests and the scenic shores of Antalieptė Reservoir. At the start, on a hill by the water, 26 stones bear engraved names, each representing a lake submerged by the reservoir. Nearby, a seated viewpoint offers a beautiful panorama, and visitors can enjoy boat-shaped swings. Alongside the landscapes of Aukštaitija and the old cemetery and burial mounds of Galminai, the route offers an unusual attraction: at the narrowest part of Antalieptė Reservoir, walkers cross from one shore to the other using a self-operated pontoon ferry. A map board marks the start, with 7 information boards along the route. Signs with a stylised boat, additional arrows and blue paint marks on trees help you find the way.
